WAYNE ROONEY proved he is a haircut above the rest by scoring his first England goals for a year to inspire Fabio Capello’s men to an easy Euro 2012 qualifying victory over Bulgaria. The win puts England in control at the top of Group G ahead of their clash against Wales at Wembley on Tuesday.
But the FA made an official complaint to UEFA after Ashley Young, Ashley Coleand Theo Walcott were last night subjected to racist chants from a section of the Bulgarian crowd. Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney broke his international goal drought with a header midway through the first half and also netted from a pass by Young. His double took Rooney to 30 England goals to make him the country’s joint- eighth top scorer. Rooney, who has started this season in sensational form since having a hair transplant in the summer, ensured a good night for England.
