Dynamos beat Highlanders 3 - 1

The win moved Dynamos to within a point of pacesetters FC Platinum who are on 49 points from 26 matches after losing 2-1 to Gunners on Saturday. But Dynamos had to come from behind after Highlanders had raced into the lead with Eric Mudzingwa finding the back of the net three minutes into the match following a good move from the midfield.
Dynamos goalkeeper Washington Arubi palmed away Rahman Kutsanzira's powerful drive and the rebound fell into the path of Mudzingwa who had the simple task of placing the ball into the net. After the goal, Highlanders dictated the pace in midfield with Louis Matawu putting up a brilliant performance. However, Dynamos refused to be cowed into submission and launched dangerous raids in search of an equaliser.

And it duly come after 11 minutes with Rodreck Mutuma blasting the ball past goalkeeper Lovemore  Makwavarara after he was set up by the lively Cuthbert Malajila. The goal sent Rufaro into delirium.
Thereafter, it was the home team who took control and in 19th minute Malajila could have increased the lead for Dynamos when he came face to face with Makwavarara only to shoot tamely at goal.

In the 36th minute Denver Mukamba waltzed past two defenders and released a screamer which the impressive Makwavarara tipped over. Murape Murape also released Malajila with a back heel pass but the Dynamos striker was tipped over by Makwavarara. And Just before the break Mukamba's angled shot hit the upright post but Highlanders held on until the half time whistle.

In the second half, Dynamos continued to dominate and on 51 minutes, Malajila headed straight into the arms of Makwavarara. But Calisto Pasuwa made changes bringing in Martin Vengesayi for Murape in the 65th minute. A few minutes later Mutuma rounded Gilbert Banda before placing the ball into the far right corner to complete his brace.

Before Highlanders regrouped, Vengesayi sealed the fate for the visitors by placing the ball to the far right corner of the post, profiting from a wonderful delivery from the left by Mukamba. Highlanders however, fought gallantly in a bid to reduce the deficit with a Graham Ncube effort crashing against the upright post in the referee's optional time.
